Solution: Firmware update to Version 3.0.2.5.x.x As of, ASUS did not have the update on their support site. My ASUS U3S6 card had this problem, since the firmware update the hub controller has not dropped\un-loaded at all. Problem: NEC ( now Renesas ) USB 3.0 controller dropping\un-loading it self from device manager. However I have a Female USB to USB3 20Pin connector so that I can plug it directly onto the motherboards header.Firmware and Driver Updates to NEC(Renesas) USB 3.0, plus controller-unloading fix My case, a Corsair D650, connects it's front usb3 ports by running two long extension cables which are ment to run out the back of the case and plug into the rear IO usb ports. I've updated by BIOS from H70 to the latest beta, H74. I've updated my Renesas Drivers to 3.0.23.0 and Firmware to 2.0.1.8. Intel does not have a USB3 driver, it's native in windows 8 so I cannot updated that.

In the Device Status text Field I get "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. When viewing the USB Stick in device manager it shows up as Unknown Device. The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it." The front USB Ports are connected to the USB 3 header on the motherboard.
